Office Kamasutra

Last Weekend, my girlfriend and I hit the bookshop in Mid Valley - MPH Bookstore. While wandering around, we came accross with this little handbook. Naturally, we flipped it open and started to scan the illustrations inside, and *lol* what we found was quite amusing and hillarious. In fact, we were giggling like school girls, accompanied by occasional wow, oooh, and ahhh!
I've managed to snap a picture of the book's front cover with my camera phone. Yep, the above pic was the result.

Kamasutra, internet's version *lol* -^^-

How's that for a change? :-P

Cigarette-smoking Jesus caricature raises uproar

Now, I'm not a cult when it comes to my religion, that's Christian so to speak but I find this
a bit difficult to comprehend. I mean, how in earth they allowed this sort of thing happened?

Yes, I'm talking about that cigarette-smoking Jesus caricature (which was published in the local Tamil newspaper).

Excerpt from Malaysia Today:

THE publication of a caricature of Jesus Christ in a Tamil newspaper, with a cigarette in one hand and what looks like a beer can in another, has caused an uproar.Malaysia's Makkal Osai daily printed the picture on the front page of its Tuesday edition.

The caption quoting the figure said: 'If someone repents for his mistakes, then heaven awaits them.' The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Sikhism wants the authorities to investigate the matter. 'Firstly, I'm surprised as to how they could make that mistake... it is a grave mistake,' said the council's president, Datuk A. Vaithilingam. 'Newspapers should avoid publishing this kind of pictures as it causes hurt to people of that religion,' he said.

The daily yesterday published an apology. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Malaysia called for a ban on Makkal Osai, referring to a recent precedent. 'When two newspapers published a caricature of Prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban early last year, the government took immediate action banning the two newspapers. It was a right decision. 'Now we have this and they too should be served the same punishment as a lesson to others,' Bishop Julious Paul said.

The Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Murphy Pakiam, said: 'This caricature of the picture of Jesus, holding a cigarette in one hand and apparently a beer can in the other hand, is a desecration and therefore hurtful to the religious sentiments of Catholics. 'It is certainly in bad taste for the editor of Makkal Osai to publish such a picture, although the message in the accompanying words is an attempt to call repentant sinners to hope and salvation.'

Contacted by Malaysiakini news portal, Makkal Osai news editor B. R. Rajen said the person responsible for allowing the image to be published has been suspended indefinitely. He said the publication of the caricature was not motivated by malicious intent. The paper's apology, carried prominently on the second page, stated: 'The leaders and philosophers with their respective message to the society are meant as food for the brain.'

The paper said the caricature was taken from the Internet. - BERNAMA

So, okay. It's taken from the Internet. We can accept that. There are so many lunactics out there, spewing nonsense, generating hateful propagandas and abusing the internet in the name of Freedom of Speech. I'm not trying to be a NAYSAYER here and please spare me some "get real, little girl! it's mad mad world out there" rebuttal. Heck, I think common sense can be applied, no? Malaysia is a multi-racial country and may I add, the public is kind of 'sensitive' when it comes to religion. Yes, people are vulnerable when it comes to 'delicate' issue and I couldn't blame them.

Well, it's a good thing that the Editor of the newspaper has greatly apologized, I hope.

I hope those political vultures won't make this screw-up as their "Ticket To Mytardom"

Yeah, like, you can kiss my perky ass?

The Magnificent Sipadan

Shame on me. I'm a true-blood Sabahan but sadly this part of Sabah is yet to be featured in my "Wanderings Itinerary"

I'm literally drooling while looking at these achingly magnificent shots of oceanic island of Sipadan, located in Tawau. Time to update my "Must Visit" itinerary. Sipadan's seabed is an explosion of more than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species and it never fails to wow the worlds's sea-diving enthusiasts.

Here's a collection of best shots courtesy of DivingBear

Che'Nelle - A hot Sabahan and currently riding international fame

Boy, i'm proud with this girl. She's one hot chick and currently riding the R&B music waves, globally. I said globally judging from her Myspace http://www.myspace.com/chenelleworld and Youtube appearances!

.....and, she's trailing hot vibes on local radio station. Tune in to Hitz.fm, she's featured on their Malaysian Top 10 English artist.

According to Wikipedia:

Che’Nelle is a young R&B soul, reggae singer/songwriter, producer signed to Virgin Records America. She was born on March 10, 1983 as Cheryline Lim in Sabah, Malaysia to a Chinese Malaysian father and Indian-Dutch mother. Raised in Perth, Western Australia.
Her father ran a karaoke lounge, where Che'nelle began singing as a toddler. She has played in bands and written her own music for years but it was American music veteran Charles Dixon, who discovered her music on Che'Nelle's myspace page.

Dixon took her material to Virgin Records and flew Che'nelle business class to Los Angeles at the end of last year to meet with the label. Within two days she had signed the deal and was being marketed as a world artist. Che'nelle worked as a promotions assistant before moving to New York in January after signing a six-album deal with Virgin Records America, the same label as Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson and Ben Harper. In Australia, she is represented by EMI.

She also shares the same management team as Kanye West, performing as the opening act on his Australian tour in March 2006.
Che'nelle collaborated with UK based music producer Manon Dave (aka Schizo) on a track for her forthcoming album. The two had also been collaborating on a number of projects prior to Che'nelle's deal with Virgin Records.
Che'nelle, studied music at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Her song, "Teach Me How To Dance" was featured in the movie Take the Lead.
Her debut album "Things Happen For A Reason" is due out on August 28.

Now, how's that? I say "Keep on rocking, gal"

Rollercoaster ride weeks

It’s been a rollercoaster ride weeks for me. Any residue of enjoyment from my last holiday trip had been doused off with the usual craziness around my office. I came back to work , and by god, all four of my bosses are literally tearing me apart left, right and center! Hence, my walkabout around the office phewwwwww! Some morning, I haven’t even put away my purse inside my drawer nor have the time to make myself a nice mug of my favourite morning drink, Milo O, and shoot, it’s already 12.00 noon!

These past 3 weeks, I’ve been tremendously busy arranging some interviews with potentials contractors and on top of that have to take care of 3 other bosses.
Scratch that, I have one more new boss. Yesterday was his first day reporting to duty and let’s just say that that has added up another notch on my bedspot (naah…just kidding, what I meant was another pain in my ass!)

By now, I feel like I’ve been hit by 18-wheelers-truck, didn’t have enough sleep. The problem is, when I get too tired and uptight, INSOMNIA is the word. I would twist and turn the whole night long while mentally berating my eyes and my mind at the same time. My eyes are shutting down but my mind is constantly humming and running, refusing to obey my eye’s command of “turn off that damn engine, dispel all the nuts and bolts and let us rest for a spell!”

Heck, wait a goddamn minute. I’m turning into a whiner. Duh…I hate bitching and there’s no love lost between me and whiners! Okay, I will probably treat this stupid rambling and gibberish as my therapy session. Just an evidence that I’m not immune to stupidity and negative vibes. Talk about being an oxymoron :-D

Oh, I would give anything just to sleep for one damn whole day! I’m actually contemplating on popping sleeping pills but gosh, it's a habit that i don't want to start to. The notion of turning into a sleeping pills junkie is scary!

Yesterday, a friend of mine rang me. As usual, I asked him how was his day and that fella just replied “ummmm..okay loh” Well, I told him my day (or rather these past few weeks), I’m in the cloud nine cause everyone is fucking me left, right and centre. Oh well, glad that I made that fella’s day judging from his barks of laughter :-D

*sniff* Not forgetting about the crazy painting-the-wall fiasco in my apartment. The management has been circulating notices like forever regarding painting works of the apartment outer walls. Of course this brings debates after debates among the homeowners and the management. Tenants have been advised not to put anything on the balcony (i.e. laundry, furniture, potted plants, washing machine and whatnot) and windows/sliding doors must be closed all the time so that the painting works can be carried out. The notice said about 3 days but now it’s already bordering to a week. For god’s sake, with the delay and the messy painting jobs (which of course done by cheap and untrained labourers from Mynamar and Indonesia) no wonder homeowners and tenants are getting antsy. I came home last evening, opened the balcony sliding doors, and lo and behold…thick debris greeted my already tortured feet. Gosh, they didn’t paint the wall in the balcony and it’s unsightly. Imagine seeing white paint on the outer walls but your balcony looks like a square of brownish cardboard box! This, after the notice said ‘painting works of wall and balcony’. My landlady complained her bedroom windows resembled a bad painting on canvas. Specks of paints are all over her windows.

*sigh* I wish I’d have more relaxing days these weekend...

The Long Absence..

For 6 years.. I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago.....
