Malaysia's 53rd Independence Day..

I am feeling patriotic today...

I am truly blessed for being born a Malaysian. Peaceful country, no apparent political unrest and above all I am glad that I was born a SABAHAN, the beautiful state, beautiful culture and beautiful people :)

so, here goes my MERDEKA SHOUT to all Malaysians:

"Selamat menyambut Hari Merdeka yang ke-53. May our country be peaceful and prosperous forever. God bless Malaysians!"

Okay, on the side note, I am going for breakfast at Lido (Ngiu Chap!) shortly and continue with a picnic excursion with my sisters, cousin and bro-in-law in Moyog River Dam, Penampang. This being a Merdeka cuti, so I better spend my cuti wisely. Not just 'bikin tahi mata' at home. Doncha think so?

Til next post.. XOXO...

Tom Yam Udang & Meeting My Mama @ Ranau Town

So, what was I up to this week? Nothing much. The main agenda is: eating, eating and more eating! Actually, I just got back to KK approximately 3 hours ago from Ranau Town, meeting my dearest Mama :-)
Yesterday, Mama phoned me, asking me to meet her up at the town and she's bringing with her some langsat and cempedak! I was of course YAYYYYYYY, BUAH!

So, today, off I went to Ranau with my cuzzie, Dena...

the langsat & cempedak: packed inside the plastic bags! ugghhh, i told my mama: BAD FOR ENVIRONMENT!
One word to describe: SADAP, SADAP, SADAP!

On the other hand, I HAD THIS LAST SUNDAY: Tom Yam udang! Another yummy finding in KK.. :-)

four pieces of prawns! table is crappy though (but it's not dirty) its surface is just worn out...

me & my nerdy glasses, lol, that's my camouflage (make up!)

i know, the table looks kinda ugly but... are you salivating yet?
little sista, enjoying her fill and yes, the bowl was filled up to its rim!

the name of the kadai kupi. location: Sinsuran Complex, KK

Well, I dunno about other people's opinion but to me, it's yummy!

Damaged to my wallet: RM7 per bowl...

Glamour Puss Vs Plain Jane-esque

Vanity, women's sacred mantra.  Yes, exactly. As a woman, I myself never step out of the house without 'consulting' the mirror first! Inside my purse, there will be two mirrors! I've got my compact powder (with mirror, of course) and also a small pocket mirror, which I nicknamed as 'cermin ajaib'. Don't worry, I've never tried Snow White's evil stepmother mantras though! ;-) As vain as I can be, I'd never call myself a Glamour Puss. Well, there are times when people complimented me on my looks so I believe I'm not entirely look that dowdy :P but Glamour Puss, now that's quite a distant from the horizon..

So, inspired by Teri Hatcher's post on her Twitter (she posted a series of her barefaced pictures, wrinkles and stripped out of make-up ) to broadcast to the whole world about her supposedly being 'botox-free' and embracing her looks, I'm gonna do the same.  So, it'll will be a picture of  WITH/WITHOUT MAKE-UP.

Getting dolled-up for the recent H-Artistry event in KK.

tan, chubby and nursing a nasty hangover..

This is how I looked like, make-upless after a tequila-filled night outing (the morning after)!

Uggh, not favouring those nasty baggies!

the two self-cam pictures: I took it during my mandi sungai sessions @ my kampung a week ago and please, I ain't trying to be the next 'do yourself some porn stuff' bimbo, ok?!

KK Waterfront, around 6.20pm, August 14th, 2010

In case you're wondering why do I looked like the distant relative of oompa loompa, that's because of the light. I sat directly under the lamp post

well, make-up does make you different from your au naturel-self, eh...

on a side note, my next project will be: posting an entry about the most familiar/infamous photograph poses, circa 80s and early 90s. LOL, that will be quite FUN!   ;-)

Post-event Review: Hennessy Artistry - The Global Art of Mixing, White Room KK Times Square

A'ight, the deadline for the review is drawing nearer! So, here goes:

I had the privilege of being invited to this event on the 31st July 2010, and..I've gotta say thank you to Helleness Chong and Jason Kong! Also, of course a big thanks to Hennessy Artistry!

Well, being warned beforehand to come early for registration (to avoid the massive human traffic) myself and cousin, Dena (she was my guest for that night)  arrived at the venue around 9.30pm.  Upon registration, we (and another group of hot ladies, presumably fellow bloggers) were ushered around by Sukie Ng, who then walked us around and did a short briefing about the event.  Unfortunately, I didn't manage to capture a photo with her because, I forgot to bring my camera as we were quite in a hurry! What a bummer, right??!  With or without camera, as what had Sukie pointed out to me: "no worry, we've got a lot of photographers here. They are more than happy and ever ready to take pictures"

Being that quite 'camwhore' person , I dragged Dena away to those waiting photographers for a lenses and flashes firing session! LOL, I've gotta tell you that for a moment, I really felt like a Hollywood Darling. Poser, poser, poser...and someone handed me a Hennessy V.S.O.P  bottle as a prop. Click..Click..Click and there I was with Dena giving our most photogenic pose to those trigger-happy Nikon DSLR totting guys! Hmmm..might I dare hope that one of those photogs will stumble upon my blog and give me a link, where I could possibly view my pictures? tsk..tsk..fat chance on that methinks :(

Hollywood Darling aside, I personally had fun at the mixing counter! We've got to mix our own drink the proper way and got a little pamphlet for the mixing recipe as a token, isn't that cool? My mix? I went for citrus (delicious!) and apple for Dena :)  It's free flow from 9.00pm til 11.00pm and crowds were already jam-packed, piling in steadily towards midnight.  The pumping mish mash of musics by the guest DJs (I have to say, HOT DJs) did live up to its promo's expectation.  Looking down from the loft to the dance floor downstairs, yooowzeerrr! What a scene, beautiful people were grooving, it almost painful to watch! LOL, a good variant of pains hehehehe...  Lordy, White Room sure does have the hottest and beautiful patygoers in town. I am not exaggerating! Don't believe me? Try White Room and you'll know what I meant *wink wink*

Overall, I believe that the event was a huge success! Kudos to the organizer for their hard works, it's totally paid off!  I believe, you had made us KKians, left for home with happy smiles plastered on our faces that night.  Hope to have more cool events in the near future though... and yes, yooohooo..people over yonder, to think that Sabahans are always presumed as living on the tree tops? tsk..tsk..

Below pictures were taken with our pitiful camera phone.  Sorry for the low quality pictures, I forgot my camera remember? :-(

silver black and purple, that was yours truly's theme for the night :-)

Ikan Bakar @ Filipino Market, Kota Kinabalu

Ikan bakar - grilled fish

Nothing is sweeter than coming back to my hometown! While I was in KL, I missed seafood quite desperately! Hah! Not kidding, cause in KL seafood is a luxury. Why? Because it's so damn expensive. Here in KK, well, it's another story. Let's not talk about that...

Now, about a couple of weeks ago, I went to the Filipino Market with my sisters and bro-in-law. They opted for bakso, while I, zoomed in straight to ikan bakar.  Visiting the ikan bakar stalls there, you'd be amazed because you've got to see rows and rows of stalls selling ikan bakar. I went crazy for sure. Crazy in didn't know what to choose,  the various offerings coupled with the tantalizing aroma and the wide open sea just under your nose can really drive you crazy!

Okay, enough with story telling, I'm gonna let the pictures do the talking! :P

yep, that's a lobster!

squids, beware for those who have excessive bodily uric acid!

are you salivating, yet?

I had this with piping hot steamed rice..alone! Yum yum...

yours truly enjoying her fill, nda tinguk kiri kanan lagi. check out the rice grain, on her right hand, barabis bah sampai nda sedar nasi melekat di tangan! LOL!

cloudy sunset @ Jesselton Point, the last stop after makan-makan :)

totally love this pic!

...and yes, I heaped on kilos since returning to KK! Chubby is the new me...tsk tsk tsk..

The Long Absence..

For 6 years.. I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago.....
