That Semporna's Gem Called Mabul

I had the greatest times of my life during my visit to Mabul Island, Semporna! In fact, I would love to re-visit the island, again. Preferably, with a diving licence, to which I plan to obtain soon! What more can I say about the island? I believe my pictures will do the talking. So, folks, here goes.

Early morning flight from KK to Tawau, less than an hour journey
Tawau Airport

Semporna jetty: everything starts here..

Booked our accommodation at Sipadan.Com. Their office is located at the Tourism Center  at Semporna Jetty

Yep, that's me and my excitement, smiling on board the speed boat

God, one of the gorgeous view along the journey to the island. Luckily, it was a clear and sunny day!

The steering guy..a very pleasant fella by the way..

The modest reception counter at the backpacker loghouse.  The staffs were friendly, polite but helpful. Coffee/tea making facilities included as well as drinking water.  So as fruits and do you see that bread box? Yes, it's free! The power/WiFi is switched on from 0600pm - 0700am

I will upload more, soon. I promise :)

Mabul Island Beckons!

Hi peeps,

News flash:  I will be heading to Mabul Island, Semporna from tomorrow until Sunday for a quick getaway with a couple of my girlfriends. News flash again, I'd be celebrating my birthday over yonder (My, that ladder keeps on towering, no?) which I believe is a rocking way to celebrate one's birthday.  A quick change of scenery and atmosphere are cool too, right? We'll be travelling backpacker style, it's cheaper and more hassle-free that way. I feel that if one is craving for excitement and a little adventure, why limit yourselves? We'll be staying at Mabul Backpackers, to which I believe, once you've clicked on the link, you'd be inclined to try out the similar experience! ;-)

Talking about hassle-free, weeks ago I FB-tagged a couple of my girlfriends:

LOL! Those are very funny conversations, right? Kekekekekeke..

Banana Leaf @ KK

Having worked in KL for quite some times with free access to abundant taste of Indian food, I was craving for some when I first returned to KK. I tried several Indian restaurants around the city but safe to say, I was still looking. Now, there are 3 places that I've been to so far. The Krishna Curry House, located at Grand Millennium Plaza somewhere in Jalan Lintas/Penampang. The second one is a Spice Garden (serves Northern Indian cuisines) located  at D'Junction (also in Jalan Lintas/Penampang)  and the third one is the K.Sanba's Curry Specials, located at Alam Mesra, KK (near 1Borneo Hypermall).

Now, because my office is about 5 minutes drive away from Alam Mesra, this place has been a regular hang-out for me and my colleague, Sonya. My verdicts: food is quite nice plus the owner is friendly. However, I have to warn you that prices are a bit expensive.  But, if you love Indian food, I think price is secondary :)

A-ha...line 'em up!

My comrade: Ms. Sonya

Side dishes: Deep fried fish, lamb tikka and bitter gourd :)

What a treat, no? :)

First thing first: the appetizer - Poppadom

..and sirap limau 'ping'

Then tear a piece of that crispy treat and yuuummm!

Yoooowzeeerrr, all gone!
Yep, all gone! We paid RM43++  for this... well, that's to be expected.

My advice: Never expect cheap Indian food in KK.

On a side note ~ Krishna's is one of the popular Indian restaurant in KK and the food is quite good too. Spice Garden, a more upscale dining place and of course pricewise, much more expensive (and serves alcohol too). Serves a wide array of Northern Indian cuisines and yes, the food is good.

Leighton Meester as a singing starlet?

Well, uh, I happened to troll Youtube today and I saw this.

Wait a minute, Leighton sings??  Save from the delicious and great Robin Thicke, all I could see is Leighton's gyrating and writhing. Well, that certainly paves the way to records.

My take? This song probably tanks (like that of Kim Kardashian's) without Robin Thicke on it.

Meanwhile, Leighton,  thank you. I enjoyed your feline writhing on any surfaces, even for a straight gal like me.

:P

The Long Absence..

For 6 years.. I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago.....
