well, i'm not sure about you people but will you 'approve or reject' your boss or ex-es if they send you a friend request say, via Facebook?
as for me, the 'block user' application will be sweetly reserved for old flames. as for the boss, hmmm..this is quite a dilemma. maybe i'd click the 'ignore' button. it'll be weird having your boss in your friends list. imagine, he or she will have full access on which circle of friends are you into, your out-of-the-office activities, etc..etc.. god forbids, that wouldn't do! no thanks...
recently, an old flame sent me his Facebook friend request. i was like, duh! of course i clicked the 'block user' application. other people may find it easy to get chummy with their old flames but for me, it's a big NO! when a relationship ended, everything that 'has been' remains 'has been'. No emails, no text messages, no phone number, no pictures, NO whatsoever! You move on with your life and it stays that way...

The "Hitler" Interviewers
Yup, last Friday I was called up for a job interview. I woke up as early as 6am, as the interview starts at 8.30am, even though i live just 10 mins away from the office location. well, i didn't want to be late and certainly any sane people knows that being late on your job interview could destroy any hope for securing the job.
I reached the office around 8am. simultaneously, several other candidates were alighting from cars/cab and decided to join me at the bench, near the counter (which displayed information counter, on its glass wall) not long afterwards, several more candidates joined us. My, all the candidates were wearing baju kurung, i was the only who wore a non-baju kurung attire. i think maybe, it was Friday and 99.99% of the candidates were all Malay women.
imagine my dismayed when we waited almost 1 1/2 hrs for the interview to start!!! I was like, what the heck? the first candidate was only called when the clock strucked 9.45am. I was the 3rd to go. 1st and 2nd candidates took about 10 to 15 mins before they came out from the interview room. Well, when my turn came, the interviewers grilled me for about 25mins. aside from normal questions, they asked me some hypothetical questions. 2 of them were quite okay, but one of them (a skinny, and frustrated looking woman) kept on asking questions, and she was twisting the similar question round and round. Gosh, i hope I didn't fall on that trap. surely, i've done my best to answer their questions. I think, when i emerged from the battle, my face looked kinda dazed. some of the candidates asked me what happened and did the interviewers asked tough questions because it took quite a while for me to come out from the room. Well, my 'inner bitch' told them that they only asked normal interview questions and such :D hey, it's 'a dog eats dog world' okay..! lol..
okay, i had mixed feelings for this interview. I think I did fine. I was able to answer the questions. Hmmm, for now, I just wait for the outcome. If I succeed, then it's great. if not, then the job's not meant to be mine. I can always try for another...

Across The Red River

I read this book last weekend but I had to stop reading in the middle chapter. The bloody and gory details of the Rwandan and Burundi Genocide is too much to bear.
this book was published in 2001 and written by a TV journalist, Christian Jennings. It chronicles his highly dangerous accounts while he's on his assignment covering the war. He arrived in Rwanda in the summer of 1994, with an almost impossible mission to track down the army officers and government officials responsible for the slaughter of 850,000 people and hoping to persuade them to participate in a TV documentary about their crimes. His supposedly 5 days assignment ended up to three and a half years, during which he became witnesses (dodging bullets, encountering fierce and suspicious AK47 totting guerillas) to the harrowing details of the sheer atrocities of this central african nation genocide.
find and read this book, that's it, if you don't mind the gory details. Don't worry, some parts of the book was written in humourous manners. maybe the author was attempting to divert the readers' minds from all the horror and cruel details. The Rwandan Genocide is considered as one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century, since the Nazi Holocaust.
as for me, this book is great but I'm done...

First entry of 2009
My, it's been a while since I wrote my last entry! The thing is, my 'creative writing' completely ditched me, for a while . So, here goes...
wow..see how fast the time flies! Double wows, it's February already! Ok, i know it's a bit too late for me to write about my 2009 resolutions. i normally don't make new year's resolutions, knowing that they will end up nowhere! anyway, just for the 'heck' of it..
"2009 Resolutions -???"
#1 Get a new job with a good pay (what? in this current "recession is when your neighbor lost
his job, depression is when you lost yours" siuation? get real!
#2 Reduce alcohol consumption! (it's getting there)
#3 Get a driving licence
#4 Widen my network (my facebook's friendlist is pitiful!)
#5 Find a real & comitted boyfriend, not one who is fonds of disappering acts, i hate being
Houdini-ed all the time! i think it's time to cut him loose..it's tiring, really!
#6 Complete kampong house (well, it's in progress and hope it'll be ready by Christmas)
#7 Buy a car (if it's possible!)
#8 Save money...
#9 Save more money...
#10 ...again, save more money!!
well, those lists aren't that difficult to achieve. Hope by the time I bid "adieu and hello (2010)" i could at least say "checked" to one of these lists :)
fingers crossed!

The World of Facebook..
So.. after Hi5, Friendster and Myspace, then it's the Facebook's turn to gatecrashing our cyberworld. One of my friend, Daniel 'Crazy' Gomez initiated me to join this highly popular (if not, highly confusing) social networking site. Ok, all seems to be ok and interesting and off I went, saying "YES" to the invitation.
browsing through, i found it interesting, fresh and guaranteed you zillions of "friends" so to speak. However, there is also a set back (at least for me-lah) all those itty bitty features really make my brain doing rollercoaster spins and i have no idea on how to respond 'Properly' to those "Requests" and I found myself clicking "YES' to every request/invitation, but honestly I don't even have any idea on what I've been agreeing to hahahah...(ok, am laughing to myself) and most of the time, i just gave up "YES-ing"
Truthfully, i am hopeless when it comes to techie matters, hah!
having Hi5 and Myspace accounts? Guilty as charged! However, I ditched them after getting so many 'friend requests' from kinky and sex-crazed men. My inbox (especially Myspace) was swollen with dirty pictures, mostly of male privates! I also hate to read messages typed in "overly creative" letters like this "HoW aRE YoU" bloody hell, can people just type it properly? it annoyed the hell out of me and giving you crossed-eye! If and when I want to get creative, might as well do it in bed!
so, now i am experimenting with this facebook thingy. yes, i am a confused member but i'd give it a try, for now....

Winter Wandering: Switzerland & Italy, Dec 2007
For as long as I'm breathing, this would be my most memorable journey ever. I used to dream of travelling but I never could ever imagine that I would be travelling this far. The opportunity came knocking when my friend asked me to join her in a fully-sponsored trip! My jaw was dropping and I was like, are you kidding now? No, no, can you pinch me? Are you serious?
Well now, here are the answers and pictures from my last sojourn in Europe. Mind you, they're all of poor quality and grey, devoid of lively color (taken with my camera phone). Ah...the other are still in the memory card (digicam) and am too lazy to burn 'em into another CD hahaha

Bonjour, Guttentag & Bonjorno!
Dec 2007? what a month! i mean, an exciting month. I closed my 2007 diary by visiting switzerland and venice....swell! Wow, it was damn cold over there but the visit was worthwhile.
I went to Geneva (loved this little swiss french city!) the women are gorgeous, really! Next up, went to Luzern, Grindelwald (it was snowing that day!), Interlaken Ost and Engelberg (the language spoken is german-swiss). I went all the way up to Mount Titlis, Engelberg. Gosh, it's freezing up there.
next, we boarded the train (Trenitalia) to Venice (Bonjorno!). I've always been wanting to visit Venice and seeing it with my very own eyes for the first time, the feeling was kinda surreal! first thing came to my mind? it's romantic, romantic and ROMANTIC! Venetians, especially the men....wow! tall, dark and handsome? yup...they really are! Maybe, one day i'll be visiting Venice again (when the weather is warmer, say, in the summertime) I fell in love with the city!
i left Venice (after 3 nights and 2 days visit) and continued my journey to Zurich. It was still cold but I savoured every moments of it. Of course, the city itself is a haven for shopping!
i left Zurich for KL, 2 days afterward. Which city i love the most? Venice and Geneva, no questions on that :-) Oh....what a feeling!
