The Long Absence..

 For 6 years..

I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago... Life was just too hectic. I was busy living my life, a life that is called WORKING and FIGHTING for survival. I lost the motivation for blogging and without realizing it, the years just gone by...

In the span of 6 years:

I had two relationships breakups,

several deaths of family members,

TikTok is giving Instagram a run for its money,

Twitter and Youtube are still going strong,

Instagram/Facebook are getting annoying,

Britney Spears is finally freed from her 13 years conservatorship!

K-pop and K-dramas' world domination,

Netflix almost become the new 'religion'

On 24th February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine to which then escalated to a full pledge Russo-Ukrainian war (war is still ongoing)!

The world is  battling the lethal outbreaks called COVID-19. Millions have perished because of this illness. Currently, the world is still battling COVID-19,

Wearing facemask is the new fashion statement.  Nearing 3 years now, facemask is still an essential thing. I don't think I will ditch it for now, seeing that this disease is still not fully eradicated (even though I had completed my vaccination plus the booster shot). Prevention is better than cure.

Queen Elizabeth II (Queen of UK and other Commonwealth realms) died at the grand age of 96, making her as one of the world longest serving monarchs (she reigned for 70 years!) and the world is finally seeing the ascension of Prince Charles of Wales as the new king, King Charles III. I believe the world is currently debating on how many years he has left to reign seeing that he's currently 73 and his health is poorly.

I think I will start writing again. I hope I'll gain the motivation to blog again. Writing might just become a source of comfort to me, just like all those years ago, when I was a lonely Sabahan girl, working in KL.

Till later. Ciao.

Welcoming 2016

Oh.My.God!

It's been so long since I last updated this very neglected blog of mine! One whole year and a half, to be exact. Tsk..tsk..tsk..

But...now I'm back. So..hello again, blog..

As a first entry of 2016, I'm not going to write a longish entry. I'll just upload pictures of my recent gathering with the 'original' circle of Sabahan Blogger ladies (at least three of them - Mimi, Carol and Lizee. The rest couldn't make it)

Our first meet up after the last (that would be back in 2010 I think) was on Jan 2nd, 2016 @ SOULed OUT. It's a newly opened restobar located at IMAGO KK Times Square. Place is a bit crowded, you need to book tables ahead if you are coming in groups. Price wise, can be a bit pricey and menus are limited. But, you can always try the Chef's recommendations.  Plus, I loved their signature Mojito drinks variants.

Here's our merry pictures, ringing in the New Year 2016.

Myself and the ever the sweet, Lizee

A shaky shot of Mimi and I. I guess I was a bit tipsy from the Lychee Mojito ;)

Lizee and I

The Chegu Carol and I

A wefie :)

Lizee, Mimi and Carol

We 'victimized' the ever attentive waiter to take this group shot :P

Group shot before heading back home.

Basically, it was all about "whatever is currently happening in my life right now" meet up.
Mimi, thanks for the gift. Wangi hand soap tu bah. I like!

Ladies, here's to a many more wonderful moments like this and let's toast  for a lifelong friendships.
Til next entry...

3 Ways To Rock Your Crop Tops

Hello lovelies? Let's talk about fashion, shall we? :)

Today, my entry is about "ways to rock your crop tops successfully."

Yep, lately, crop tops have been making come back rounds on the fashion circuits. I remember, during late 80s to early 90s, they were such a big, big deal back then . Alongside with big perms, mullet hairs, thick shoulder pads, leggings, leotards, tights, mesh shirts and stonewashed/acid denims.

#1: FLIRTY

When women hear the word crop top, some may feel a little bit insecure while some have no idea on how to work it with their body figure or mix matching it. Crop Top is becoming one of today’s trending fashion clothing with many designs and women can substitute the normal tees or blouses with cute crop tops in their fashion wardrobe. There are three easy ways that every woman should try to experiment with the crop top. The first famous look is the casual look:  You could wear your crop top with a pair of shorts whether it is denim or not. You could choose a lace crop top for a feminine look or just look edgy with a graphic printed one. But if you’re aiming for the sexy, wear a pair of heels, sling bag or sunglasses. If you are a more laid back type of girl, a pair of sneakers and cap will work fine as well.

Check out Zalora website as it offers their customers with amazing designs of crop tops online at a very affordable price.

#2: FUNKY

The second look for women to try out is by pairing a sleeveless crop top with a short skirt or midi skirt. Show off your fun side and expose the soft ladylike personality you have in front of others. If you do not want to show a lot of skin, wear an outerwear on top of your sleeveless crop top with a cardigan, blazer or even a jacket. Never over accessorize when you attempt to pull this look as too much accessory will make your outfit look crowded. Just stay simple with only a pendant necklace or earrings.

Check out Zalora website as it offers their customers with amazing designs of crop tops online at a very affordable price.

#3: SEXY

Lastly, this look is suitable for the ladies who want to reveal an extra sexy and outgoing side in front of others. Wear you sleeveless bright coloured crop top with a printed or patterned skinny pants and high heels for a sexy sophisticated look. This outfit will be stunning to wear out on a date with the special someone or even to a party with your friends. Perk it up with a stainless watch, jewellery  and a clutch bag for the complete look. Interested to try out these simple ways of wearing your crop top to perfection? Check out Zalora website. They have affordable and amazing designs of crop tops online. You'll be spoiled for choices, I promise :)

P/s: I need to get back to exercising. One needs a sexy abs in order to pull this crop top style successfully, no?

When someone steals your photo...

..and made it as her/his Facebook profile picture.

The picture, which I have uploaded in this blog, was used by a woman as her FB profile picture. Being an open account, it generated 'likes' and hundreds of mixed up comments. Some of the comments were positives, others were just hateful, sarcastic even. The comments started with "not bad for Sabahan ladies", with the usual remarks of females' attributes in between. Tales keep on spinning, the owner of the account even invented a story of my cousin being a widow (she is not, thank you very much!). While I, is apparently an unknown tourist, probably from Korea and a complete, selfie-crazy person! Heyyyy, I do selfies but I'm no Kim Kardashian, OK? She's the master of all selfies.

Initially, I didn't know the existence of that woman's FB account but one of my friends (she's frm my hometown) asked us (my cousin and I) if we have other accounts. To which we said, no, we don't. She then sent us a screencapped of the that woman FB profile and well, hell, my pic is her profile pic. Suffice to say, we're not happy with the comments posted next to it.

Long story cut short, we have asked the person to remove the picture and asked her to write an open letter of apology for using my picture without permission. I have to say, her friends were less than happy when they found out that she's been carrying tales all these while.

I don't have issues with people who use images I've uploaded online, but it is only fair to ask for permission no? The only problem is when strangers misuse your photos, it posts a threat to the real owners. Cyber crimes bullying is the worst thing that can happen to you! It's no laughing matter.

Well, since the woman made a public plea and acknowledged her mistakes, we accepted her apology.

Always be cautious, people.

34 Years Later..

Yeah, a few days ago, on Feb 11th, it was my birthday. Man oh man, hard to believe that I'm old. In a few years time, God willing, I'll be 40! So, one of my friends had suggested that we should go for a trip. She said:
"Hey, why don't we go to Bali?" I said "Sure, that'll be fun. Let's"

So, it was then decided that Bali it is. Unfortunately, timing is all wrong. So, we then decided to shelve it until May. And so, we'll be going to Bali. But wait, if it's Bali, I should at least shave off a few kilos of my fat. Yes, I am flabby. I need to lose it. Especially my 'cushiony' tummy. I don't want to end up like a washed up whale! NO.

So, 34 years later..I've come to this:

What will next year brings?

That Awesome Traveler - Rick Mereki

I came upon this guy, Rick Mereki at Vimeo like, recently and I have to say, I love his videos. One particular video that I really loved is titled "MOVE".

44 days, 18 flights, 11 countries, 38,000 miles, two cameras, him and his two other mates have recorded a 1 minute terabyte of epic footage! That deserves a super epic awesomeness!

Here's the video:

He's like basically everything I wish I could be!

Smartphonegeddon!

Albert Einstein once quoted this:

"I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots"

Well, Einstein, you weren't wrong. The world now is overrun with generation of idiots, as you had correctly predicted.

Well, we have idiots running around, speed chasing smart technologies. Errr, I'm actually sugarcoating this. What I meant was ruled by smart phones, which if I might, I'm calling them as generation of:

I'diots'
I'bragger'
I'cooler than the regular kids'
I'rich n famous'
I'nstagram bitches'
I'selfie bitches'

..to name a few.  Of course I'm the owner of a smartphone myself but I believe there's still a 'kampung' soul in me. I don't get attached or enamored with my smartphone. I do have Instagram/Twitter/Facebook apps in my trusty Samsung S-II but I don't log into them like 24/7. I still crave the conventional human interaction. When I'm out with pals, I don't clutch my phone like it's my lifeline. I take selfies, I take food-selfies but only for maybe a few minutes at a time. Well, maybe when I'm trapped in a bad date, then I'll envoy this "OMG, I'll totally die without my phone" tactic! At home, I will be the only one whose eyes are glued on the telly. The rest of the house occupants, their eyes are glued onto their smartphones' screen! In any functions that I've been to, you'll see the guests will be doing the same. People around us are doing the same. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace!

Take a look at these (sources from the internet):

Coffee dates with girlfriends..

It ain't Beatles..

Updating your FB status: 'amazing game today'

Ahhh...pizza

A very merry thanksgiving dinner with the fam..

Leisure drive around the city with BFFs

All for one, one for all..

Let's have a date..

Guess the paintings at this gallery failed to bring forth these ladies' artistic souls. Beaten by the technologies..

Grandpa is a bit puzzled..

Coffee date at your local Starbucks

Ahm sexay and I kno' it..

What a warm feelings I have...

A good day for BFFs outing..

Ok, mate. I'll take care of burger, you take care of your cappucino, eh?

Oyy, mom! You're a danger to your kids.

and the winner is..
May the force be with us, in the darkened cinema..
Maybe thousand years from now, archaeologists will probably find ancient fossils of smartphone prototypes at their digging sites all over the world and note in their findings: our forefathers in the 21st century were great pioneers in today's technologies !

It's Smartphonegeddon!
