Boy, i'm proud with this girl. She's one hot chick and currently riding the R&B music waves, globally. I said globally judging from her Myspace http://www.myspace.com/chenelleworld and Youtube appearances!
.....and, she's trailing hot vibes on local radio station. Tune in to Hitz.fm, she's featured on their Malaysian Top 10 English artist.
According to Wikipedia:
Che’Nelle is a young R&B soul, reggae singer/songwriter, producer signed to Virgin Records America. She was born on March 10, 1983 as Cheryline Lim in Sabah, Malaysia to a Chinese Malaysian father and Indian-Dutch mother. Raised in Perth, Western Australia.
Her father ran a karaoke lounge, where Che'nelle began singing as a toddler. She has played in bands and written her own music for years but it was American music veteran Charles Dixon, who discovered her music on Che'Nelle's myspace page.
Dixon took her material to Virgin Records and flew Che'nelle business class to Los Angeles at the end of last year to meet with the label. Within two days she had signed the deal and was being marketed as a world artist. Che'nelle worked as a promotions assistant before moving to New York in January after signing a six-album deal with Virgin Records America, the same label as Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson and Ben Harper. In Australia, she is represented by EMI.
She also shares the same management team as Kanye West, performing as the opening act on his Australian tour in March 2006.
Che'nelle collaborated with UK based music producer Manon Dave (aka Schizo) on a track for her forthcoming album. The two had also been collaborating on a number of projects prior to Che'nelle's deal with Virgin Records.
Che'nelle, studied music at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Her song, "Teach Me How To Dance" was featured in the movie Take the Lead.
Her debut album "Things Happen For A Reason" is due out on August 28.
Now, how's that? I say "Keep on rocking, gal"
There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants and we are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars - Oscar Wilde

Rollercoaster ride weeks
It’s been a rollercoaster ride weeks for me. Any residue of enjoyment from my last holiday trip had been doused off with the usual craziness around my office. I came back to work , and by god, all four of my bosses are literally tearing me apart left, right and center! Hence, my walkabout around the office phewwwwww! Some morning, I haven’t even put away my purse inside my drawer nor have the time to make myself a nice mug of my favourite morning drink, Milo O, and shoot, it’s already 12.00 noon!
These past 3 weeks, I’ve been tremendously busy arranging some interviews with potentials contractors and on top of that have to take care of 3 other bosses.
Scratch that, I have one more new boss. Yesterday was his first day reporting to duty and let’s just say that that has added up another notch on my bedspot (naah…just kidding, what I meant was another pain in my ass!)
By now, I feel like I’ve been hit by 18-wheelers-truck, didn’t have enough sleep. The problem is, when I get too tired and uptight, INSOMNIA is the word. I would twist and turn the whole night long while mentally berating my eyes and my mind at the same time. My eyes are shutting down but my mind is constantly humming and running, refusing to obey my eye’s command of “turn off that damn engine, dispel all the nuts and bolts and let us rest for a spell!”
Heck, wait a goddamn minute. I’m turning into a whiner. Duh…I hate bitching and there’s no love lost between me and whiners! Okay, I will probably treat this stupid rambling and gibberish as my therapy session. Just an evidence that I’m not immune to stupidity and negative vibes. Talk about being an oxymoron :-D
Oh, I would give anything just to sleep for one damn whole day! I’m actually contemplating on popping sleeping pills but gosh, it's a habit that i don't want to start to. The notion of turning into a sleeping pills junkie is scary!
Yesterday, a friend of mine rang me. As usual, I asked him how was his day and that fella just replied “ummmm..okay loh” Well, I told him my day (or rather these past few weeks), I’m in the cloud nine cause everyone is fucking me left, right and centre. Oh well, glad that I made that fella’s day judging from his barks of laughter :-D
*sniff* Not forgetting about the crazy painting-the-wall fiasco in my apartment. The management has been circulating notices like forever regarding painting works of the apartment outer walls. Of course this brings debates after debates among the homeowners and the management. Tenants have been advised not to put anything on the balcony (i.e. laundry, furniture, potted plants, washing machine and whatnot) and windows/sliding doors must be closed all the time so that the painting works can be carried out. The notice said about 3 days but now it’s already bordering to a week. For god’s sake, with the delay and the messy painting jobs (which of course done by cheap and untrained labourers from Mynamar and Indonesia) no wonder homeowners and tenants are getting antsy. I came home last evening, opened the balcony sliding doors, and lo and behold…thick debris greeted my already tortured feet. Gosh, they didn’t paint the wall in the balcony and it’s unsightly. Imagine seeing white paint on the outer walls but your balcony looks like a square of brownish cardboard box! This, after the notice said ‘painting works of wall and balcony’. My landlady complained her bedroom windows resembled a bad painting on canvas. Specks of paints are all over her windows.
*sigh* I wish I’d have more relaxing days these weekend...

I had my hair cut off...
I was bored, and I temporarily lost my sanity (probably lah) last week! I went window shopping in Mid Valley the whole Saturday, and ended up entering a hair saloon. Didn't really know what prompted me to let the hairstylist hacking away my locks!
So, in less than an hour...I had a new haircut. It's a simple bobcut but mind you, not a la Victoria Beckham. Simply classic bobcut - the pageboy looks. You know, pageboys in those medieval era in England? yes, that's the one. I'd probably look shitty in my new haircut but oh well, i don't give a damn :-) besides, my hair grows very fast!!!
funny thing was, everyone in my office today - (in a first glance) thought that I was a new kid on the block. Really...my boss didn't even recognize me. He exclaimed: "ohhhh, it's you. I thought you're a new secretary"...well, fancy that, he was probably thinking 'who is that shitty and dimwit looking girl sitting on my secretary's desk?' hahahahaha...
Granted, it's actually a good feeling. I mean, doing some crazy things and you don't give a hoot on what other people might think. I know, I'm not particularly ravishing (ravishing? scratch that, I'd settle for UNPRETTY) with my new look but I'm happy cause I can laugh my craziness off and reminisce (maybe like "shit, what was I thinking?") about this say in about 3 or 5 years later?

Cuti-cuti Malaysia
Yipeeeeeeeeeee! Can't wait for tommorrow :-)
Me and a bunch of other friends will be going to Langkawi and that would be my first time visiting Langkawi. Hmmmm....the last time I tasted the tangy and salty taste of ocean was last year, during my visit to Kapas Island, Terengganu.
Back in KK, well....the ocean is just under your nose, so to speak! Gosh....how I miss everything and everyone in KK :-(
My voice? oooohh it's returned allright, but not completely. I'm still coughing every now and then but thank god it's not as bad as a couple of days ago. Looks like my diligence and devotion of gulping two spoonfull of the cough mixture every 4 hours interval and washing it down with a glass of water have been paid off! But...the results? God, the drowsiness was killing me. Such was the effect of the cough mixture. Just imagine, early morning while I was riding the LRT, even if I was standing and clinging onto the 'hand rail' (i don't know what's the name of that damn thing) I'd be dozzing off throughout the journey to my office! Gosh, there was one time that I nearly missed getting off to my station!
I'm counting the hours to tommorrow. Islands hopping? Now, that is a pleasant thought. Might as well squeeze it into our itinerary :-)

I'm losing my voice......:-(
I woke up this morning with a nearly gone voice!
the result? I'm a croaking frog around my office. My colleagues barely understand whatever words I'm trying to say. I've been taking medications since Monday! My friend even bought me traditional Chinese remedy for flu and sore throat. It's called: "Teh Herba Pai Chaw Wai Kan"
ok..forget about my illness.
My response to Papajoneh's entry in his blog about how much/true Sabahan are you questionnaires. Here goes mine:
1. You drive at right lane of the road, with a speed of only 50 KM/H. If people horn behind you, you still don’t know what’s wrong.
Ini mana dapat lesen ni? Was it “lesen kopi O?”
2. You have the luxury of working from 8 AM to 5 PM (get off work punctually).
nope, I work from 9am to 6pm
3. You don’t believe that there is any “clean” politician in Sabah.
Talk about “Politik Sabun, Politik Duit” kebanyakan mereka lebih suka mengembangkan poket masing2, selfish and greedy!
4. You feel “obligated” to reach the top of Mount Kinabalu at least once in a lifetime.
Ehem…ehem…I admit I’m no Mr. Salagan but I’ve been there once
5. You prefer a big car than a big house (probably you can’t drive a big house around to show off).
Can I want both? Heheheh…ok la, I’m a petite sumandak so a tiny car is ok
6. You wear slipper and short wherever you go, even in city.
yeah, I do that most of the time but I’d make sure that slipper is at least on the trendy side. Well, slipper design nowadays is very ‘kheng’ mah.
7. You still think that Labuan belongs to Sabah.
Well, I know that Labuan is a FT but deep down, I think Labuan and Sabah cannot be parted.
8. You will not go to any FREE seminar / function that has no food or refreshment.
Bah…siapa mo pigi seminar/function kalau teda makanan? Personally, I don’t really like going to any seminar, free or paid whatsoever
9. You don’t care about service. You just want things cheap, cheap, cheap.
Sometimes lah but nowadays, I tend to accept the fact that if you want a ‘tip top’ services, you have to pay more. Yeah, I can handle that
10. You know where to get your candles and torch light quickly in the total darkness (due to training by frequent blackout).
Yes! This is soooooo true.
11. You know what “aramaitiee” means…
ABUDEN?.....yes, ofkoz I know :-D
-cheers
-yaaaaam seeeeng
-salut
-salud
-kampai
-thanniiii
-minummmmmm....
12. You shout “referee bodoh” and at the same time throw mineral water bottles on the pitch during a football match at Likas stadium..
Hmmmm …. Never been to any stadium, thanks to TV / radio….however, I do curse sometimes especially when the players are diving here and there with no strong reasons. Sikit2 tumbang macam batang pisang buruk...Germany World Cup 2006, wahhhhh...so many diving stunts!
13. Your Timorese maid ran away with her lover, taking your money or jewellery along..
my family don’t hire maid. My mum is a ‘Superwoman’ but mostly, now that me and my sisters have grown up, we do the house chores
14. You doubt someone’s mykad whether it is real or fake..
Yup, no argument on that one. Apparently, nearly a million estimate of non-pribumis have acquired mykad, rumour says so. Betul atau tidak, you'd be the judge!
15. Your favourite assemblyman whom you vote and supported all this while…gambled away and lost a whopping 60 million ringgit in a London casino..
Holy cow…those millions are rakyat’s hard earned money and that fella lost it for nothing!
16. You go inside a karaoke at 12 pm and realise that the place is still open at 5 am…
Gosh…..how I miss go karaoke with friends in KK!
17. You come across a supposedly local person but with a very foreign accent..
Tell me about it!
Speaking about that, there’s a story about foreigners masquerading as locals. This happened when Sabah’s gahmen was doing an “operasi cegah PTI” a while back. One day, a truckload of policemen stopped a KK city bus en route to Inanam. So, one of the policemen asked one male passenger (he was sporting a slightly curly hair) to produce his mykad.
Officer: Mana IC?
Passenger: Ada tuan (he confidently fishes out his mykad) Ini tuan. Sya urang tampatan bah tuan.
Officer: (Takes the mykad and strokes his chin thoughtfully) Ohhh…bagus, bagus! Urang tampatan, bagus. Bah, kalau macam tu, cuba ko kira angka dari nombor 1 sampai 10.
Passenger: Bah. Sya kira ya tuan. Satu, dua, tiga, ampat, lima, anam, tujuh, DELAPAN…… (before he finishes counting, suddenly…..)
Officer: Heh, urang tampatan kunun! Naik ko di situ skarang jugak!! (pointing out the navy blue coloured police truck which was parked by the roadside)
Well, the passenger succeeded with flying colours on his local accent but unfortunately his thick Indon accent (when he pronounced DELAPAN, instead of LAPAN) gave him away!
18. You cannot vote in an election because someone has voted on behalf of you…hmmm….tanyakan pada pengundi hantu
19. You own a bakakuk
I don’t but my dad used to keep about 2 bakakuks. That was long time ago...and he never kept bakakuk inside our house. Kalau polis datang, habis!
Well, that’s about it lah. To sum if up, I believe I am a true Sabahan.

Bad Week
Hhhhgggggggh.....!
This week is definitely not a good week for me. I've been sick since last Sunday. My throat is burning and am coughing blood (don't worry, not so much blood. most definitely ulcer), my head is aching and I've been suffering from hot and cold fever and also vomitting.
On Monday morning, I dragged myself to the nearby clinic and the doctor gave me about 5 type of medications! Aduiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii........i'm not a fan of medicine, any medicines! I had about 1 day MC and the next day (Tuesday) I forced myself to work, I had to! Thinking about the mountainous works, uh huh...not a good picture at all. I can't afford to take a loooong 'cuti' because I have 4 ppl depending on me. Yeah, i'm a secretary to 4 different bosses! Now, how crazy is that? Believe me, I'm not joking....hence, the neverending workloads!
Yesterday after lunch, I emptied my gut down the toilet bowl. So, I was left with an empty belly and a raw throat, and of course with a very very bad aftertaste!
Today, I am still having a fever but thankfully my headache is ok a bit. My throat? It's far from okay :-(

The Prison & The Prisoner
The bride tells her husband , "Honey, you know I'm a virgin and I don't know anything about sex. Can you explain it to me first?"
"OK, Sweetheart. Putting it simply, we will call your private place 'the prison' and call my private thing 'the prisoner'. So what we do is: put the prisoner in the prison."
And then they made love for the first time. Afterwards, the guy is lying face up on the bed, smiling with satisfaction. Nudging him, his bride giggles, "Honey the prisoner seems to have escaped."
Turning on his side, he smiles. "Then we will have to re-imprison him." After the second time they spent, the guy reaches for his cigarettes but the girl, thoroughly enjoying the new experience of making love, gives him a suggestive smile, "Honey, the prisoner is out again!"
The man rises to the occasion, but with the unsteady legs of a recently born foal. Afterwards, he lays back on the bed, totally exhausted. She nudges him and says, "Honey, the prisoner escaped again."
Limply turning his head, He YELLS at her, "Hey, its not a life sentence, OKAY!"
