34 Years Later..

Yeah, a few days ago, on Feb 11th, it was my birthday. Man oh man, hard to believe that I'm old. In a few years time, God willing, I'll be 40! So, one of my friends had suggested that we should go for a trip. She said:
"Hey, why don't we go to Bali?" I said "Sure, that'll be fun. Let's"

So, it was then decided that Bali it is. Unfortunately, timing is all wrong. So, we then decided to shelve it until May. And so, we'll be going to Bali. But wait, if it's Bali, I should at least shave off a few kilos of my fat. Yes, I am flabby. I need to lose it. Especially my 'cushiony' tummy. I don't want to end up like a washed up whale! NO.

So, 34 years later..I've come to this:

Hola!

Kaamatan (Harvest Fest)  is around the corner, again! We, Sabahans are celebrating it on May 30th-31st 2013. So, in light of this, I'd like to wish all my fellow Sabahans a very Happy Kaamatan Festival. Let's be merry but respectful to others. Drink responsibly and celebrate it with goodwill and friendship.

Well, some people might say that I'm such a friggin' camwhore but let me just clarify this.  It's only been two days since I turned 33 and I just want to record and memorize the 33 year old me in photos, and when I reach milestones upon milestones of my age (If I'm still alive by then! God willing..) I'll be able to look back at these snapshots and said: Dang! That was me when I was 33!

The Dumb Side of Photoshop!

For a tiny bombshell, looking like a goddess at a ripe age of 44 is not a small feat! Botox aside, who can dispute that lush figure of hers? She has that ideal type of a body that I envy. Petite, slim yet curvy at the right places! However much I love that January 2013 edition of Elle UK, what the hell happened to Ms. Minogue's left leg????!  Where did it go? This is a bloody photoshop blunder! I mean, tweaking the imperfections is still forgivable but why made her looked like an amputee? Unless she has the ability to sit like an osteomalacia sufferer. Or maybe she's a contortionist!

Yep, I think I sound like a total high school bitch but bitch please, she's already gorgeous as it is. No need to photoshop her within an inch of her life til she loses that hot kicker of hers! We still need her "Spinning Around" legs, thank you very much!

Parhelion: Twins Sun Effect

I have the luck of seeing this phenomenon today. It happened around late afternoon today (27th June 2012). I was coincidentally outside of my office building complex with several of my colleagues when this appeared in the sky!

Another one of our galaxy's mystery, no? On the other hand, I am thankful for being able to witness such beautiful phenomenon.

Short To Shorter & The Nightshirt/Comfy Shirt

Well, I finally cut off my hair. My long hair was beginning to bankrupt me, what with a big bottle of shampoo and roughly two tubes of hair conditioner every month! Hair care is not cheap! Not counting the amount of time I spent just primping and preening! Besides, the crazy and hot weather keeps on grating on my nerves and my hair's constantly plastered on my neck. Shorter hair: easy peasy maintenance!

And, the other day, I went to Suria Sabah. F.O.S was having a warehouse sale. I saw this Chelsea FC jersey (Well, I'm a fan teeheee) and it was being sold at RM15 apiece. What a bargain because the original price was much more expensive, I think, it's over a hundred ringgit. Unfortunately, they only came in XL and L sizes. I said to myself, OK, it's cheap and it's big. What could I possibly do with it? Oh well, I'll just turn it into a nighshirt or a comfy shirt while 'lepaking' at home.

So, there you have it. Me with my newly shorn off locks and my Chelsea Comfy Shirt :)

Kodak moments of the yesteryears..

LOL! Have you ever take out your ancient albums and relived your Kodak moments? I remember when I was little, I used to take out my ancient family's albums, full of my relatives' pictures! Oh dear, the amount of 'classic shots'  mostly in big hair, bell bottoms, wedges, jersey dresses, big lapels and etc etc.  The most important part in picture taking back on those days were: 

1.  Picture of you holding a stalk of artificial/real flowers

2. You, hoisting up a cassette/tape recorder player or as the kampong folks call as "rediu" on the shoulder, arm akimbo, leg propped on a rock/tree stumps

3. A black/white studio portrait of your family (normally the youngest child would be sitting on the mother's lap) and there's always a prop like an antique vast, blooming with artificial bouquet)

4. Your parents/aunts/uncles in big lapels and small shirt, wearing bell bottoms trousers

5. Fat side burns and  handlebars moustache, afro hair, big sunglases

6. Ladies in plank/platform shoes & jump suits

7. It's all about that thick/black eyeliners, baby! 

8. 80s fashion: Everything was NEON/bright colors 

9. Big shoulder pads, big hair, big collars, and ironically  high-waisted, skinny & flared trousers!

10. Those neon colored leggings & spandex!

11. Guys were still favoring those flared jeans/trousers

12. End of 80s: ripped off skinny jeans, acid washed jeans, neon colored fishnet shirts! OMG)

13. All the ladies were sporting 'kuriting kasar" hair styles

14. By this time, holding a stalk of flowers was not an 'in thing' but you rather had the whole flowerbeds as your props! 

15. The 80's and 90s: Your cool factor decrease if you don't own a KONICA/KODAK camera!

A tale of two people and a bench..

I don't get these women. This afternoon,  I was waiting for the bus to come when I saw these two, yip-yapping happily and loudly with no apparent care of their surrounding. They're standing up while their things, dengan selambanya 'languishing' on the bench! Hello?! Benches are there for people to sit on, you plunk your butts on top of it, NOT letting your things occupy it while others are standing up, being robbed out of their seats!!

I whipped out my mobile and snapped a couple of pictures of these two inconsiderate culprits. A lady standing next to me (she was obviously fuming, giving the barang-barang  an evil eye) glanced at me with her raised left eyebrow.

Mr. Bench:
Oyyyy..you two, git your big ass over here la..otherwise, scat and let others sit!

Mr. Bench:
No? Obviously, you two are a pair of ill-mannered person.


















Hish.. geram betul dengan orang jenis macam ni! These two need to learn a thing or two about proper ettiquette.

Gaga the scarecrow..

what does the oddball and eccentric lady gaga and the scarecrow have in common?

well, put them side by side together and they'll scare the crows away! the famously 'brit's humor' has certainly livens up to its name! a british farmer apparently had come out with a 7ft gaga scarecrow after watching gaga's bizzare red carpet outfit during last tuesday's brit awards. after failing to drive out the crows in his farm despite numerous trials, he resorted to erect the gaga scarecrow in his field. amazingly, it worked like a miracle. the crows no longer 'terrorized' his corn crops!

...i say, try putting a real lady gaga running around in the field,  it'll definitely double the effect!

Jacky the Puppy

I think he's a Jack Russell terrier..well, kind of. I'm not too sure myself but he definitely looks like a JRt. he's our Jacky, our puppy back in KK. only three months old and quite an active little doggy..that's what my elder sister told me. I haven't got the opportunity of meeting him but i'll definitely spoil him to death when i'm back! Hmmm...I shall bring him pressies :)

Colour Me Bad..?

experimenting with different hair colors is okay. provided that it suits your skin tone, personality and the mixing and coloring process is done by a professional. Otherwise, the result will turn out just like this:

not quite a desirable sight if you're a middle age man, trying to disguise your graying hair and moustache by dying it in orange. yes, i took this picture in a crowded bus during my way home from work. i think,  it would be better if he used black hair color, instead of orange!

that hair disaster might be forgivable but it's definitely not a good sight if you walk around sporting orange-colored moustache!

hmmm..it's been a long long time since i had my hair dyed *pondering*

Monkey comes, monkey goes

the carpark at my office has become as some kind of  monkeys' playground! some can be seen doing their 'monkeystics' on top of the parked vehicles. some are just contented 'monkeygazing' at you with their flashing small, beady and intimidating sharp eyes! this is a familiar sight at my office building surrounding area. hmmm..takut juga kalau one of these days, they would turn rabid on you! saints above, they might be carrying diseases!

whenever i see them, i'd totally freeze. i am quite traumatized with the story of people being mauled by rabid monkeys! well, if you don't kacau them, i guess they will leave you alone.

that's what happened when the forests are felled, the hills are cut to make way to new constructions. the animals lost their habitats and they will begin to 'migrate' to a human populated area!

meantimes, manage to capture a pic of the other monkeys, perked on their chosen spot, watching me snapping their pics from afar..eeeiiiii takutnya!

Guys With Talons... hot? NOT!!

was riding the bus home yesterday and saw this guy with a ten sets of talons. i didn't mean to secrutinize every people around me but sometimes, my eyes can turn to 'eagle eye' mode hahaha! sometimes, not all the time okay :P  

so, what do you guys think? to me, it's a big turn off. why must a man (one who wears muscle t-shirt at that) simpan kuku panjang macam pontianak??? long pinky nail ala-phua chu kang might still be acceptable but ten whole sets of  'em? dang! see the picture below? i managed to curi-curi snapped his picture with my camera phone.

my speculations are:

1. he's gay
2. he thinks it's sexy
3. it's convenience to garuk his back
4. toothpick? no need!
5. he's an ah beng in disguised
6. clutching that oversized wallet with his kuku pontianak is one of his 'wow' factor
7. those are his 'wolverine' weapon. can cungkil opponents' eyeballs

my advice to you guys : you want to keep long fingernails? by all means, please do. it's your right but do you have to go to this great length? when i first saw him, two words came to mind ~ eeeeeewwww, yuck!
