The Ditched Life. Well, almost...

For someone who used to bar-hop during those wretched years spent in KL, returning to KK was a far cry from my former life. While I was in KL, guzzling down alcoholic drinks during weekdays pretty much summed it up. The normal practice would be partying from the early evening and staggered back home the next day after. The security people down my apartment complex had gotten used to our ‘itineraries’.  Having our carpark space next to their security post was, as far as the tenant’s information goes, of course more than sufficient.

After returning to Sabah for good, that was middle of 2010, I finally resolved myself as a born again novice when it comes to clubbing scene.  Gone were the days of staggering home with mussed up hair and make-up, walking barefoot with shoes toed off, lying in abandoned inside the car and no more binge-drinking  taking precedent to a much abused whole year round body.  No more passing out hugging the toilet bowl. If you ask me now whether I’d still be able to withstand the onslaught of alcohol in my system,  I seriously doubt it. To be exact, I’ve been sober for nearly two and a half years now.  Well, to begin with, I’m not an alcoholic junkie. I drank a lot, but luckily I wasn’t hooked on it 24/7. I didn’t suffer from withdrawal syndrome and I am perfectly calm and nonchalant when I walk by the wine corner at supermarkets. I do enjoy wine. I drink it while at home or picnics or during family gatherings.  I was a binge-drinker. That much I admit.

In all fairness, nightlife in KK is not one we can call boring.  In the city centre, there are a number of watering holes to sink yourself into, to spend a chunk of your monthly wages off.  To call forth your Twitter/Facebook friends for the catching-up and socializing in the flesh.  I remember one time back in late 2010. After attending an event at Le Meridien Hotel, my friends practically frog-marched me to BED, where people from every walk of life in KK congregate.  At a relatively cheap cover charge, anyone can squeeze themselves in. But of course, drinks prices in this establishment are not cheap!  One thing for sure, this club is always jam packed, especially during weekends.  The locals, the tourist, the immigrants, the hookers – all converged into one.  From the moment I stepped inside, the familiar tobacco fumes practically gave me cardiac arrest. Jostling with sweaty bodies, toes got stepped on, boobs getting grazed with various peoples’ anatomies (and some louts copping a feel at my bottoms) while on stage, some mad Filipino band shrieking and gyrating in skimpy attires over the too loud music you could hardly hear the vocals and there I was, feeling out of place and too old compared with the rest. I had the sensation of being trapped in the tunnel of mayhem.

Half an hour inside, my tops got sloshed with icy drink by an overly hyped guy, who was dancing and totting his glass drink high up his head (If appeared like a man gotten his nuts kicked all the way to Timbuktu is what we can call dancing at all) and a guy next to our table kept on coming to ours with his ‘let’s clink our glasses together’ phrases.  The other girls were beginning to turn the other cheeks and proceeded to dance with no care and I was left dealing with the bore.  I said: excuse me but please, enough with your ‘aramai ti’ cheers.  Leave us alone, we’re not interested.  Red faced, he never attempted to approach us again. I looked at the bar top counter located in the center of the cavernous room  and several girls were trying to drug the crowd to oblivion with their super-Shakira moves.  On a closer inspection, it appeared that one of them was a tranny  in stripper’s heels, denim mini skirt and leopard print bra. While that irritating Sean Kingston’s  Fire Burning lyrics was blasting about calling 911 because Shawty (whatever and whoever that is) is burning, a young girl crouched on the bar top counter, skinny thighs splayed apart,  showing her not so flattering panties while a man below held up a burning ciggy lighter up her gyrating crotch, the crowds grew wild. It safe to say that that tranny in leopard print bra was ousted!

In the remaining hours of the night, I tried to blend in. My attempts on reviving my ‘party people coolness' were unsuccessful. In the end, my bottoms remain glued on the stool and I was left looking at the people who used to be the shadow of my former self. These days, I prefer to kick back and relax with friends in laid back bar/lounge, preferably with some Irish bubbly or cocktails and have proper conversations without shouting and breaking my eardrums. A simple teh tarik session with friends is a luxury that I never want to forgo.

And that, have probably made me a boring woman? I draw the line of being a recluse, by the way.

Next, Joe Flizzow and Sona One. Joe, who is one half of the internationally renowned Malaysian hip-hop duo, Too Phat - a familiar fixture of the Malaysian hip hop scene. As Too Phat, he released multi-platinum albums, sold over half a million records and even achieved international recognitions from MTV Asia and Channel V – incredible feats for a local artiste. DJ Joe Flizzow & Sona One

Amplifying his crafts for the night is his protege and one of the fastest rising hip-hop stars in the country, Sona One.  The 21-year-old Sona One is the consummate artist who continues to break barriers and delivers results way beyond his young age. Starting his career as a graffiti artist at the age of 10, today he is widely recognized as one of the leading "graph-heads" in the region.  Musically, Sona One's sound is distinctively "European" with the early 90's hip-hop tinge, an era where conscious lyrics were often met with soulful production. A huge fan of golden oldies, as reflected in his  sample-heavy musical compositions, this fast rising young star will surely deliver a unique collaboration between guru and protege. Experience their power packed one-off performance which will blow your minds away as they hit the Hennessy Artistry stage in KK!

Bringing to life its trademark repertoire, partygoers can also expect to be blown away bt DVJ G Mix, one of the few individuals in the country with the ability to 'visualize sounds' and to provide audiences with hypnotic, head-turning visuals.  He has performed as the closing act for the Bangkok Invaders and most memorably, as the guest DVJ Korean superstar Rain's concert VIP after party in KL.

What's With Men And Their "Kangkang Conquests"??

What’s with men and their ‘kangkang conquests?’ ok, according to urban legend, men think about sex every 6 seconds. Is that true? Well, only men can vouch for that!

So, as it happened, about a week ago, my friends and I went for a karaoke session. As usual, there’d always be unfamiliar faces among the partygoers and you’d be obliged to do the mingling around whatsoever. As the night progressed steadily with over-flowing brandy, the atmosphere was getting more and more ‘lively’. While some were making trips to the toilet (I guess to empty their bursting bladders and guts out down the toilet) I was more than happy doing the singing. while I was singing, one particular guy with a big capital ‘O’ literally written all over him (that’s obnoxious) kept on trying to engage me in conversations. Fine! Talking, that one I can handle but when all the talks were about him and his pussy conquests, I’d rather be talking to the wall!

He kept on barking sentence like, “I’m not wearing underwear. Wanna see it? I can show you. Come on, I know Sabahan girls are good sport lots” my replied, “yeah, we sure are good sport but NOT cheapskate good sport. Just so you know” Then, this Caligula wannabe kept on saying, “I’ve tasted Malaysians, Indonesians, Thais and even China Dolls. As my company constantly makes trips to China, we always ended up in Guang Zhou! I tell you ah, fuhhhh..you’d be treated like a king. Those ‘bah kut tehs’ really make you feel like don’t want to leave the place!” I just ‘angkat sebelah kening’ and continued singing. He kept on rambling and rambling about his sexual escapades and at the same time guzzling glass after glass of brandy.

at one point, he asked me, “eh, let’s go somewhere to have fun. What say you?” I was like, ‘excuse me?’ I don’t want to. If you wanna leave, then you can go.’ Then he’s like ‘eh, what if I pay you? If we end up going to bed together, then so be it. I really like girls your type. Sabahan girls are fun and wild! How much you want, 500? 1000?” I replied, “No thanks. Go take your offer somewhere else. Or save it for your next trips to Guang Zhou. I bet it's value for your money”

To which he replied “hmmm…playing hard to get eh? You know what, I have bedded several Malaysian artists before. Some of them are even willing to be paid 500 a night. I even bed one artist and paid 10,000 bucks for her company.”

Wow, this guy was unbelievable. 10,000? For a night of bed-romp sessions? it must be a 'turbo-jet like' bed breaking sessions! then again, looking at his face, it's enough to make me gag. If it means money, guess that woman must be not too picky. Tired and irritated of hearing him yapping about his ‘kangkang conquests’ I left him and joined the other group.

Talk about ‘I’m in love with myself’ men….

Am Wasted!

yeah, the usual craziness of too much alcohol and ciggies! But, uhm...wait a minute, I don't normally do it, i mean do it all the time lah. it's kind of "being temporarily crazy" which is associated with weekend night outing :-) nahhh, i think there's still light at the end of the tunnel, at least, for me lah. I think, i'm not a lost case :-D

i woke up nursing a hangover, leftover from last night drinking session with my friends. It was around 9pm when I received a call from a friend. Apparently, she's having a party (at Bisik Rest in Ampang Park) with a horde of her gila-gila friends. Naturally, she was 'clucking' that I should get my ass off over there and 'enlisted my aide' in finishing the drinks (well, actually i am not really enamored with whisky, so to speak) but hey, there's always beer and cocktail. So, off i went and yeah...it's a-okay night albeit I didn't really enjoy the selection of the songs (performed by the 3 piece bands) and the freaking DJ kept on spinning old retro records (ok, i'm sure he's really good at what he does).

we left Bisik approximately close to midnight and the girls regrouped at Conlay. Tropical Storm was brewing there, lol no lah. Tropical Storm is the band which currently playing there. Then, you do the usual stuff la. Drinks and ciggies combined, what else. Hummppph..the place was packed with groups of youths who looked like minah & mat rempits to me! Okay, the music was a good improvement compared to those I suffered in Bisik. Sorry, no pun intended. Maybe the night was intended as retro night...

Anyhow, we left the place around 3am and as usual, continued wasting the hour away at Lotus. It was close to 5am when I reached the safety of my own room, washed, stripped and snored my drunkedness away.

my my my...what a night.

Saturday night escapade

*sigh*

Saturday night, me and the girls decided to group out at UC, PJ Hilton. Coincidently, one of our batang frens was celebrating his birthday. Ok, actually we were invited to his birthday party . By 10.30pm, me and the girls were already there while the batangs group was still cruising the highway all the way from Seremban. They reached UC approximately at 11.15pm.

*sigh again*

We were kinda hoping for a more lively music that night but don't know lah. The band, who is currently performing there macam kurang rempah. I think they're pinoys. If i'm not mistaken, they are going by the name of The Blocks (or something) Ok, sure they are good musicians but their choices of songs that night was a bit boring. My group agreed that the performance is like, I don't know, let's just say that if Simon Cowell were there..he'd say something like 'booooring'

Yup, the music might be boring but I think the night progressed quite well. Let's see if I can recall anything.

Hmmmm....I think I had a short trip to the beach and made wild sex, twice! While I'm on it, Johnnie walked in holdings a tray of tequila shots. Then, Mr. Carlsberg decided to join and said "hey, wanna do foursome?"

Hahahaha...

2am something, we cabuted from the place and continued to go karaoke in Bangsar. Hmmmm...I bumped into a very cute guy (I've met him a couple of times at the same place). So, he said "hey girl, nice to see you again. Why don't you get your ass over here and join us?"

so off I went to his table (he's at the public lounge with another good looking batang) and said, "Well, thanks for noticing my fine ass and heck, I think I might just do that"

There i was with two jugs of beer sitting on the table and two lengchais while the rest of my partners in crime were honing their singing skills amidst slurred words and off key singings (they're quite wasted) inside VIP room No. IV.

4.00am, my group left and headed straight to the mamak restaurant nearby. I reached my house around 5am something, washed my face, undressed and fell flat to my nose into my bed and woke up around 2pm the next day with a nasty hangover.

Foursome and hangover, whew...what a way to spend a weekend!

The Long Absence..

For 6 years.. I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago.....
