But now, I'm torn between two smart phones! What is my second love? It's no other than the new Samsung Galaxy S-ii! Yes, these two make me literally going frothy and tingling with the sensation called "WANTING"!  Why am I torn between Sony-boy and Samsung-gal?

Announcement: TheWanderingSumandak will be no more...BUT..

Dear my recruits & accidental readers,

Please don't be alarmed of this announcement! My lappy is not in trouble, nor am I saying kiss goodbye to the blogniverse (Yes, I think I'm the inventor of this word. It's a combination of BLOGging & uNIVERSE hehehehe!) I am pretty much still signed in to blogniverse! :P

So, keep on reading folks..

I have been blogging since 2006 albeit sparsely (my early year of blogging).  There were stretches of times that I was plagued with the much dreaded writer’s stumbling block per se.  Nowadays, I might not be as active as before but whenever there’s an issue or ideas that my mind keeps on instructing me to ‘you must write about this’ only then I’ll try putting some sentences together.

This time around, several of my friends have been complaining about my super long blog’s name. Admittedly, it’s a tad too long “thewanderingsumandak.blogspot.com”.  That’s 31 letters all together! Actually, I came out with the name during my gallivanting years  in KL. Between 2005 – early 2010, I was working in KL and I guess the name was aptly put.  Come to think of it, between 1999 – early 2010, I was (and still am) actually living a gypsy-like existence.  There were Uni years  in Sarawak, followed by a brief ‘striking  out on my own’ between 2003-2004 back home, then continued living in KL from 2005 til early of 2010.

The year of 2010 sees me going back to me hometown. I guess my wandering years is finally over. Logistically, yes.  Mentally? Well, I’m no vegetable but I think somewhere in the deep recess of my mind, my inner gypsy is still residing. Hmmm..forgive the melodramatic me, would you? However, I've to admit that I'm pretty much settled in now. Not fully settled but I am more than half way there! :-)

So, this year, I will be changing my blog’s name but I haven’t got the idea for its name. Maybe something simple? A name which is reflecting my name? My  personality? Or maybe something eye-catching? Or  something very ‘cincai’? I will post the name later and will retain the current name for maybe a week to let my readers know about the imminent changes.

‘til next post.. XOXO

Kota Kinabalu Food Fest 2011

It's the inaugural debut, bringing you a tasty turn of events (this year's theme)

As I am a foodie lover, this event is just what I need and I believe KK folks would love this too! This is also a good opportunity for the outside visitors to sample the fusion of local and international fares! Tempting, right?

Let me share the goodies with you! After all, sharing is caring, no? :P

Welcome to Kota Kinabalu Food Festival

Kota Kinabalu's first food festival makes its inaugural debut from 9th July 2011 (Saturday) to  22nd July 2011 (Friday).  Appropriately themed “A Tasty Turn of Events”, the KK Food Fest is a 2 week showcase of Food & Beverage establishments in and around Kota Kinabalu.

Organized by Malaysia's first premier online lifestyle magazine, LifeAndStyle.com.my,the crux of the KK Food Fest is to discover and promote varied dining options in our city, catering not only to dedicated gourmands, but also to those of us who are very simply foodies at heart.

The KK Food Fest encourages delicious experimenting by way of a specially designed “Festival Menu” - available only throughout the duration of the festival. Diners will be able to enjoy  unique  offerings from participating establishments in this first-of-its-kind event.

The KK Food Fest culminates in a Food Fest Finale which will be hosted on the final day of the festival to celebrate the diversity of our city's food heritage. This main crowd puller of the festival brings with it a fun and relaxed feel. Marry this with stellar entertainment and you've got all the ingredients for an appetizing evening to remember. Participants of the KK Food Fest include restaurants, lounges and bars attached to hotels, stand alone F&B outlets, qualified chain eateries, as well as gourmet food products and wine suppliers.

My Wish List!

Everyone is talking about i-Phones, i-Pads, or whatever 'Is' are there around but me? I'm not really into that kind of gadgetries.  I tell you why I wont.

#1 - I'm not a techie geek, totally blind when it comes to these matters

#2 - I use mobile phone for text-ing, make/receive calls, taking pictures, listening to music (I seldom surf the net via mobile phones,  what's the use anyway? My 8-5 office life is already on the net, at home - with my trusted Digi broadband. So, my life doesn't revolve around these super-smart technologies)

#3 - I don't need a super duper genius mobile phone to look cool with

#4 - I'm a pheasant, so the price of an i-Phone is totally out of my budget  :(

Having said that, I think I might need to retract the #4 reason. This after I saw these:

..and the COMING SOON

Now, these beauties got me wishing, got me writing, got me talking. They hooked me so, I'm a newly-converted barely-there-geek-rats.  I am so gonna get me one of those. One of these days, I truly hope!

I've fiddled away with the Xperia Arc and I loved what I saw. Took me almost 30 minutes, checking the thing out @ one of the outlet in 1Borneo the other day! I had to forcibly tore myself away from it because there were people behind me, wanting to look-see and the salesperson's eyes were kinda glassing over (I think he's silently stewing inside like "heiisshh, pigang lama-lama, maka bukan mau bili pun!"

Kekeke..my cousin snapped some pictures of me with the Xperia Arc and well, I just HAD TO BLUETOOHed them pics to my mobile :D

at 8.1 megapixel built-in camera, who needs the conventional digi-cam when you  can just whip out your mobile phone (and a super slim ones at that)  and shoot away?

Note to self: MUST BUY!

Hometown Glory

It's been sooo long since I last updated my dear bloggie with my picture. I mean, my own picture, preferably some recent, non-airbrushed nor photoshopped pics of yours truly.

If you ask me, did I get fat from my recent trip? No, I don't think so.  Last time when I checked my current stats at the clinic where I got treated for my sprained ankle: it was 47.6kgs. Lesser than the previous 51.3kgs.  In as much, I think I managed to control myself from indulging in gluttony, yunno, when in kampung, the glorious fete being offered to you by your over-indulging relatives is bound to torture your tastebuds! When you're watching your diet and weight like the proverbial hawk watching his preys, that can be a total killjoy! Anyhoo, I think I've succeeded a little because I just bought myself a pair 'daisy dukes' pants and I managed to squeeze myself inside it! What a real miracle! Gah, a little snug but better than nothing, no?  :P

To me dearest readers and followers, here are  pictures of my recent trip to my hometown in Ranau. Bunches of 'em are shots with my sisters, cousin and cutie pie niece :)

The majestic Mt. Kinabalu as my backdrop! :)

with my kid sister, cute as button niece and cousin
my sisters & niece. Ranau town sure is improving, cue: the sidewalk
yours truly & cousin

..that's all for now. Will upload the rest of the pics soon. :)

Unwell

Twisted my left ankle last week.

The said ankle is currently in a bandaged state.  I had to walk like Captain Barbossa with his wooden peg leg. My right leg has to bear my entire body weight, it's so troublesome.  Having said that, I still forced myself to masuk opis.  What a beautiful life, eh? NOT!

Adding to that, my headache is tormenting me too! Cold hands and feet but my body is heating up.  I think I am racking up a fever. It might has something to do with the current state of weather.  What with the hot and dry air and the next thing we know, it's raining till the next kingdom to come.

I think i'm gonna wrap up early and go home.  There's no point of staying in the office when you're a wreck.

The Long Absence..

For 6 years.. I haven't been writing anything.  The last entry that I posted was in October 2016! Damn! That feels like a century ago.....
